A kind experience

When I was 12 years old, I went on a hiking trip with a group of boys and two adult leaders. We hiked together for one week in the mountains of northern Michigan in the United States.

I was very small and weak and it was difficult for me to carry all my stuff in my backpack because it was so heavy. One day it rained and I was very tired and cold. I was struggling to continue the hike. My leader saw that I was struggling so he came up to me and offered to carry my sleeping bag. He told me that he would do this for me if I would do it for someone else in the future. I was inspired by his kindness and was able to continue and finish the hike.

Years later, I was a leader on a hiking trip with a group of boys. One of the boys was struggling so I offered to carry his sleeping bag. I said to him the same thing my leader said to me. I told him one day he would do it for someone else. I think kindness can spread easily if we show people an example.
